History of footwear excellence

Our roots originate in the heart of the Montebelluna Sportsystem district in Veneto, Italy. In this unique context, the passion for quality footwear came to life, handed down over the centuries by skilled shoemakers. Discover our history, from the beginning to today, where the commitment to comfort and style has made us a point of reference.

The origins

In this context, the father of the Merlo family, a man with a profound dedication to the art of footwear, was a point of reference in the sector since the post-war period. His leather creations, especially his ski boots, were renowned for their exceptional quality. This wealth of knowledge and know-how was passed down from generation to generation.

1949

Birth of Lomer

In 1975, the young son Giancarlo decided to carry on the now legendary family name and founded his own brand: LOMER, a brilliant anagram of the family surname. Guided by tradition and inspired by the past, Giancarlo began his journey. His vision, however, extended far beyond his personal talent.

1975

An Indissoluble Bond

As the years passed, his brother Sergio, who grew up in a footwear environment and with experience in the sport system, joined Giancarlo’s project. The family thus became the pillar of LOMER, and the brand increasingly reflected the indissoluble union between expertise and passion.

1978

Italian passion

During the 1980s, the company became a well-known name in Italy and beyond. Authentic Lomer shoes, the legendary walking shoes, become an icon of resistance and style.
